Foster and Therapeutic Foster Homes
The Children’s Home operates a limited Foster Home program, primarily serving children and youth who have been in other more restrictive programs at the agency. When the treatment team feels a child or youth is able to move to the lower level of care of a foster family home, the agency seeks a home to accommodate that particular child or youth. Foster families reside in our local community to stay effectively linked as part of the treatment team. The Children’s Home continues to provide medical, professional and casework services to the child or youth and offers respite and day care, as needed. Prospective foster families go through an application process, a home study process to become a certified family and a training process before a child or youth is placed in the home. Therapeutic foster homes provide itensive and supportive services to children and youth with significant medical, developmental, emotional, or behavioral needs, who, with additional resources can remain in a family setting and achieve positive growth and development.
