Overview
The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie provides a range of services to children, youth and their families in one or more of the seven programs we operate that comprise our continuum of care: Campus Residential, Agency Boarding Homes, Supervised Independent Living, Transitional Living, Group Emergency Foster Care, Young Mothers Program and Foster Homes. The Home’s social workers and other staff work closely with families to involve them in the process of preparing the children for return to family and/or readiness for full independence. All children attend public schools in the belief that it is better to keep them grounded in the community to which they eventually will return. A full time Education Coordinator works with the schools and the children to ensure that each child is receiving whatever resources are needed to complete school.
