What is the Social Network?
The Social Network is a group of young, successful professionals from throughout the Hudson Valley. It was created to raise awareness for the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie among the 20 and 30 somethings of our community. The Social Network holds various social events that take place outside of work hours in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Attendees can meet up with old friends, make new friends, network, have a good time, and do it all for a great cause!
Why does the Children's Home need my support?
With the help of it's supporters, the Children's Home is able to provide more services to abused and neglected children than are covered by State funding. The services that are mandated by the government are not enough. We feel our children deserve more and need more to give them the best chance at a successful future. Donations allow for more child care workers, supplemental programming such as art therapy, additional social workers and psychologists. We take our children to the church of their choice, arrange outings to sports and cultural events, and enable them to participate in other activities their peers enjoy. The additional services we provide help our children to heal from the heartbreaking experiences they have lived through and gives them a better chance at a brighter tomorrow.
Who can be a part of the Social Network?
If you're a young professional in the Hudson Valley you are invited to join us at a Social Network event. There are no membership fees. All you have to do is show up and have fun. That's it!
