Elvis and Marshall want you to know that today, May 15th, the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie is participating in the 9th annual Hudson Valley Gives Day!
What is Hudson Valley Gives? It’s a 24-hour “day of giving” fueled by passion, collaboration, and the power of social media. You can think of it as a type of digital telethon. And the best part is that it benefits nonprofits right here in the Hudson Valley! At the Children’s Home, we see this as an opportunity to unite our community around causes that matter.
How can you help? We’ve set a goal to raise $10,000 this #HVGives for two monumental reasons:
- Ace, our beloved Chief Facility Dog, passed away earlier this year on February 9th. Not a single day has passed without our children and staff sharing favorite memories of him. Our kids miss Ace. We’re also serving more children than ever and that means Elvis and Marshall have packed schedules. We dream of adding a new dog (or two) to our team soon.
- From boarding and vet appointments to continuous training and treats, our 4-legged therapists require lots of care! Elvis and Marshall provide comfort to our children who’ve experienced abuse, neglect, and maltreatment. They help our kids feel safe to open up about their traumas. This is the first step towards healing.
By contributing to Ivy’s Fund today, you’ll help preserve and expand our Facility Service Dog Program. No amount is too small when the work is this important. We are grateful for all the support we receive towards continuing this essential program. You enable us to continue spreading healing and hope to children and families right here in our community!
Remember, our goal at the Children’s Home is to raise $10,000 in 24 hours! With your help, we know we can do it. Please visit this direct link to our giving page and make your gift before the clock strikes midnight.
