POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie is proud to announce the appointment of Kevin Caccomo and Kathy McCorry as two new members to the Board of Directors, along with the confirmation of a new executive committee effective July 1, 2025. These two individuals bring their combined expertise, knowledge, and leadership in financial planning and insurance, to strengthen the organization’s mission and long term impact on the community.

Kevin Caccomo, CFP®, Wealth Management Advisor & Managing Director, Northwestern Mutual – A dedicated husband and father of two, Caccomo brings both personal compassion and professional expertise to the Home’s mission. Since 2012, he has excelled at Northwestern Mutual, helping families achieve financial security and provide top-notch guidance and support. He holds a bachelor degree from Mercy College and earned his CFP® from the American College of Financial Services. Caccomo’s connection to the Children’s Home mission runs deep. His mother, Patricia Caccomo, more affectionately known as “Ms. Pat” was a dedicated employee whose commitment to the Home inspired Kevin’s own involvement. Outside his professional role, he enjoys spending quality time with his own family, especially outdoor activities and creating magical memories at Disney.

Kathy McCorry, Assistant Vice President in Corporate Benefits, NFP, an Aon Company – With over two decades of experience in the insurance industry, she has built a career specializing in employee benefits strategy and client service. She holds a New York State Life, Accident, and Health Insurance license. A proud member of the local community, Kathy lives nearby with her husband and two children and loves to travel whenever she gets the chance.
In addition, the Children’s Home announced its newly appointed Executive Committee: Chair – Valerie Murphy; Vice Chair – Matthew Cruz; Vice Chair, Audit – Maureen Crush; Vice Chair, Governance – Patrick Meaney; Vice Chair, Program – Catherine Forbes; Vice Chair, Resource Development – Jason Dewey; Secretary – Sean Manna; Treasurer – Mary Lou Davis; and Assistant Treasurer – Glenn Noakes.

About the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie
On January 21, 1847, a group of Poughkeepsie women called the Female Guardian Society met to form the Poughkeepsie Orphan House and Home of the Friendless to care for the poor, abandoned, and neglected in their communities, most especially the children. They believed that all children deserve a nurturing and caring environment. More than 178 years later, their work continues.
Today, the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie provides a full range of Community Based Services and Residential Services giving hope and healing to at-risk children throughout New York State. The Home is licensed by the New York State Office of Children & Family Services, the New York State Office of Mental Health, and the New York State Department of Health. The Children’s Home is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for its exemplary adherence to human welfare agency guidelines. In fiscal year 2024, the Home served approximately 1,791 children and their families.
