On Thursday, January 16, Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie celebrated the official grand opening of the Children’s Way Counseling Center, a new outpatient mental health clinic for children, adolescents, and families in the Hudson Valley. The ribbon cutting was attended by nearly 50 supporters, staff, and community partners, including the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, representatives from Congressman Pat Ryan’s office and Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha’s office.

The Children’s Way Counseling Center provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services for children, adolescents, and their families who are experiencing behavioral and emotional health challenges. Services offered include early assessment and identification of childhood emotional disturbances, individual and family psychotherapy, medication management, crisis intervention, complex care coordination, and referrals to additional community-based supports.

The strong turnout for the ribbon cutting reflects the growing need for accessible youth mental health services in the Hudson Valley. Families across the region are seeking timely, compassionate, and coordinated care, and the opening of the Children’s Way Counseling Center represents an important step in expanding local mental health resources.
